Level 6 Construction Contracting Operations Management NVQ

This qualification is recognised by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and enables the holder to apply for Chartered Membership, upon submission of a successful Professional Review.
The Level 6 Construction Contracting Operations Management NVQ is a work-based qualification for experienced construction professionals working at a managerial level. It is also an ideal route for experienced professionals who previously held CSCS Industry Accreditation (often referred to as “Grandfather Rights”) and want to gain a recognised qualification to support their career progression and CSCS requirements.
The qualification is suitable for a range of construction contracting and commercial roles, including:

The qualification can cover areas including planning and programming, procurement and tendering, contract work and progress, surveys, commercial activities, health and safety, and managing teams and working relationships.
Successful completion provides a recognised Level 6 qualification and enables an application for the Black CSCS Manager’s Card, subject to meeting the relevant CSCS requirements.
How the NVQ is Assessed
Our Level 6 Construction Contracting Operations Management NVQ is designed to be straightforward and flexible, with no formal assignments or written work for candidates to complete.
We do not provide candidates with an e-portfolio or online platform to manage themselves. Instead, your assessor oversees the portfolio-building, and guides the process.
Your knowledge and understanding are captured through recorded professional discussions with your assessor, rather than through written questions or lengthy assignments.
Items such as reports, programmes, spreadsheets and e-systems are examined throughout the process, to demonstrate your role and responsibilities (and areas of competence).
Where appropriate, your assessor may also visit you in the workplace to carry out face-to-face assessment activities. However, the qualification is normally completed remotely through an engaging, supported process.
How Long Does the NVQ Take?
There is no set duration for completing our NVQs. The timeframe varies from candidate to candidate and depends on their existing skills, experience, job role, the evidence available to demonstrate competence and, importantly, their own willingness and commitment to engage with the assessment process.
Cost
The standard cost of the Level 6 NVQ is £1,700 plus VAT at the prevailing rate. Companies registered with CITB may be eligible to claim Achievement Grants upon successful completion of the qualification.
