Interior Systems - Dry lining Boarding NVQ
Level 2 NVQ - (Blue CSCS Card)
The dry lining boarding NVQ is for experienced ‘tackers’ (fixing plasterboard to timber or metal studwork); or ‘stickers’ (fixing plasterboard to walls using adhesive plaster)
You will need to demonstrate practical skills in relevant areas of dry lining boarding, to prove you have the ability to carry out your work safely and to a good standard. You will also need to show understanding and awareness to prove you have a good level of work-related knowledge and competence.
Process
Unlike many other providers we don’t have mandatory written work, as we often cover this through discussion and verbal questioning.
There is no e-portfolio for candidates to manage, as the assessor oversees the portfolio building.
Your assessor will visit you in your workplace, to collect evidence relating to the qualification being undertaken. Using methods such as observation (watching) and discussion, the assessor will work with you to gather what’s required for your portfolio – these methods of assessment are often recorded electronically. A third-party reference (witness testimony) can be used as another source of evidence, to help confirm your levels of competence and areas of responsibility.
Duration
The timescale between registration and completion varies for different candidates – candidate experience and willingness are key factors here. However, 2-4 months is an achievable duration for competent dry lining boarding operatives.
Cost
The standard cost of this Level 2 NVQ is £795 plus VAT at the prevailing rate. Grant money can be claimed back at completion by companies registered with CITB.
