Level 3 NVQ - (Gold CSCS Card)
In line with PAS2035/2030:2019 regulations, installers can complete this NVQ as proof of occupational competence, within their areas of expertise. Further details on new regulations can be found here:
This qualification is for installers who are experienced and responsible for carrying out advanced insulation works, within the following areas:
Pathway 1 – Room in Roof
Pathway 2 – Park Homes
Pathway 3 – Hybrid Wall
Pathway 4 – Insulating Framed Sections of Buildings
Pathway 5 – External Wall Insulation Boarder
Pathway 6 – External Wall Insulation Finisher
Pathway 7 – External Wall Insulation Boarder and Finisher
Pathway 8 – Internal Insulation (Walls)
You will need to demonstrate practical skills in relevant areas, to prove you have the ability to carry out your work safely and to a good standard. You will also need to show understanding and awareness, to prove you have a good level of work-related knowledge and understanding.
Process
Your assessor will visit you, on site, to collect evidence relating to the qualification being undertaken. Using methods such as observation (watching), discussion and looking through relevant paperwork, the assessor will work with you to gather what’s required for your portfolio – these methods of assessment are often recorded electronically. A third-party reference (witness testimony) can be used as another source of evidence, stating your levels of competence and areas of responsibility.
Unlike many other providers, we don’t ask for written answers, as we cover this element through discussion.
Duration
The timescale between your initial induction for the course and completion varies. However, 2-4 months is a realistic time – although this can be longer or even shorter, depending on the candidate’s ability and availability.
Cost
The standard cost of this Level 3 NVQ is £1125 plus VAT at the prevailing rate. Grant money can be claimed back at completion by companies registered with CITB.
