Level 4 NVQ - (Gold CSCS Card)
Level 4 Construction Site Supervision NVQ may be suitable for experienced supervisors and managers, who work for principal contractors, overseeing multiple operations on site. Your responsibilities should include implementing health and safety, managing teams and trades, attending meetings with clients and stakeholders, monitoring and recording progress, organising materials and resources and planning work operations.
Written Q&A, recorded discussion, observation and examination of paperwork, electronic programmes and data form key assessment methods for this NVQ.

NOTE: There is also a Level 6 version of this NVQ, which leads to a Black CSCS Card (Construction Site Management).
Process
The process of delivery for this qualification varies from candidate to candidate. However, we do not implement an e-portfolio for candidates to manage; your assessor oversees this process.
Depending on circumstances and planning, your assessor may visit you in your workplace to carry out face to face assessment activities (although the whole NVQ is often carried out remotely).
Written Q&A, recorded discussion, and examination of documents, e-systems, reports, programmes, etc., are key assessment techniques for capturing evidence of candidate areas of responsibility, and level of understanding. A third-party reference (witness testimony) may be used as another source of evidence, to help confirm your areas of competence.
Duration
The timescale between registration and completion varies for different candidates – candidate experience and willingness are key factors here. However, 6-12 months is an achievable duration for competent candidates.
Cost
The standard cost of this Level 4 NVQ is £1450 plus VAT at the prevailing rate. Grant money can be claimed back at completion by companies registered with CITB.
